Veteran pitcher Brett Myers has agreed on a one year contract with the Tribe pending a passed physical later in the week.
New skipper Terry Francona has continuously emphasized the need to bolster the starting rotation, and Myers will have that opportunity.
Myers has been a starter for most of his career, but was most recently a reliever between the Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox.
With Justin Masterson coming off of a down year, Ubaldo Jiminez still struggling, and Carlos Carrasco coming return from Tommy John surgery, Cleveland can really use a durable veteran arm like Myers'.
If Myers does crack the rotation, that will most likely be the second new addition to the starting rotation with Trevor Bauer being the other.
It is still unknown whether Bauer will begin the season with Cleveland or in Triple-A Columbus, but the Indians could definitely use a boost in their suspect rotation if they plan to make a post season push in 2013.
